The Hawea Bowling Club opened officially on Labour Weekend 1990.
The then Domain’s Board granted land beside Peter Fraser Park and after considerable fund raising and support from community members, the green was opened. A ‘Sports Club’ was then formed and, with the Bowls Club as the driving force, money was raised and the first club house was built. This has been extended several times and is now the Lake Hawea Community Centre, in which our club rooms are located.
In 2021 our club has 73 members. We have a successful and full bowling programme and a busy social calendar in which we hope everyone will become involved.
Mission Statement
To provide excellent bowling club facilities and playing opportunities for the benefit of all members of the community and to operate in a friendly, professional, positive manner – thereby creating enjoyment, harmony, transparency and belonging.
